Emmaline is a professional dog trainer and a certified behaviour counsellor. She is a graduate of the San Francisco's SPCA's Academy for dog trainers under the guidance of Jean Donaldson and Janis Bradley. She also holds a certificate in Special Advance topics in Dog-dog aggression from the Academy. While residing in New York City, before returning to Ireland in 2007, Emmaline studied for four years under renowed U.S Dog trainer Andrea Arden (author of 'Dog Friendly Dog Training', 'Train Your Dog The Lazy Way' and 'The Little Book Of Dog Tricks'.) and Denise Herman founder of "Empire of the Dog" For three years she held the position of shelter manager at her local community dog shelter and aided in the rehabilitation, remedial socialisation and adoption of over two hundred dogs. Consequently, working with rescued dogs is an area close to her heart.Emmaline continues to stay active in rescue by working with Dogs In Distress www.dogsindistress.org and offers discounted rates to dogs adopted from their rescue organisation. Emmaline is resident dog training expert at www.ohmydog.ie and offers FREE advice to questions posted.She has also written several articles on various dog related topics featured on this site. As part of her commitment to on going training and learning, she recently received her certificate as a 'Canine First Responder'. This course dealt with how to provide first aid to dogs in an emergency situation. Emmaline is a founder member of APDT Ireland www.apdt.ie and is certified as a professional member of this association.
